I post on occasion about products I have found and tried that are alternative treatments for common ailments that most people seek out prescriptions for. Some of the most commonly medicated conditions today are stress, anxiety and depression. It seems almost every one suffers from one other the other at varying degrees off and on throughout their life. But not everyone suffers from it badly enough that they actually require the meds that are so often prescribed for those conditions. As I have posted about before, I suffered from pretty bad post partum depression after the birth of my daughter and turned to modern medicine for help but discovered that my depression was nutritionally based and was able to go off the psych meds a lot sooner than my Dr had anticipated... this change in approach was spurred by a bad experience with suicidal thoughts (which hadnt been an issue before) while on zoloft. So I am all for alternative medicines. They generally dont make you fixate on all the ways you could potentially kill yourself. ANYWAY! One such alternative medicine product that I recently found is Confianza by ItWorks! Global. First I will tell you what the website says about the product then give you a description of my experience with it:

Now, I have not taken Confianza more than a handful of times since my depression is easily managed by nutrition therapy, but I do take it on occasion when I need a little boost to get me out of the rut. When I first took it I followed the directions and took 2 tablets. At first it just mellowed me out, but I soon realized that half the day had slipped away from me and I had no energy to do anything. So I didnt take it for a while after that. But then I had another rough day and I wanted to chill out a little. So I took one. This time it didnt chill me out, it boosted my energy, kept me clear headed, and made me feel like I could actually get a few things done. It was great! So for me 2 pills is too much, but I know other people who take more than 2 because less than that is not effective for them. So would I recommend this product? You bet I would! If you plan on using it just remember that it might take a little experimenting. One woman I know through a product review page said that she had been on antidepressants for YEARS but that thanks to Confianza she is now finally able to get off those meds. I think that's wonderful!

Before addressing the remedy that I would like to recommend in a mental health care situation, it is important to know the definition of anxiety, so we are all clear that I am not attempting to diagnose or cure people of any condition. I am not a doctor and if you are ever unsure of anything I post in this section of the website, please feel free to consult your doctor and do some of your own research. I am only posting about remedies that I have personal experience with, and believe to be safe.
According to Wikipedia, 'Anxiety (also called angst or worry) is a psychological and physiological state characterized by somaticemotionalcognitive, andbehavioral components.[2] It is the displeasing feeling of fear and concern [3] The root meaning of the word anxiety is 'to vex or trouble'; in either presence or absence of psychological stress, anxiety can create feelings of fear, worry, uneasiness, and dread.[4] Anxiety is considered to be a normal reaction to a stressor. It may help an individual to deal with a demanding situation by prompting them to cope with it. When anxiety becomes excessive, it may fall under the classification of an anxiety disorder.[5]

That being said, a stress and anxiety remedy that my mom turned me on to that I absolutely swear by is called Gabba Calm. According to Drugstore.com 'GABA Calm™ combines three of the main inhibitory neurotransmitters, plus N-acetyl L-tyrosine,, a precursor of norepinephrine.* The sublingual form is absorbed directly into the bloodstream, via the blood vessels under the tongue and in the cheeks, allowing for quick entry into the system.'. To put it in layman's terms...Its like smoking pot but minus the munchies and hallucinations. It just chills you out. If you're not stressed and you take one, you probably wont notice any difference at all. But if you're getting anxious, nervous, angry or stressed and you take one you will certainly notice a difference within 15-30minutes. It comes in a sub-lingual and as a daily tablet. I would recommend the tablet for people with overall anxiety issues, and the sub-lingual for crisis prevention or crisis management. If you just have occasional anxiety responses that you have difficulty managing on your own, then I would recommend just using the sub-lingual on an as needed basis. Either way, I would recommend testing your response to this remedy on a day that you do not have to work as Gabba Calm may possibly cause you to feel a little sleepy.
